Please be aware that these jewellery pieces are precious and delicate. They should be treated and stored as such. Earring posts need to be protected; they are always the most delicate part of an earring.  Keep your jewellery out of the sun and protected in a box when not wearing. 

Pearls - 

All the pearls we use are cultured, freshwater pearls. They are delicate and easily scratched so it is best to always store them correctly when not wearing them. Heat and chemicals will discolor and possibly ruin your pearls. Avoid wearing perfume in areas close to where you will place your pearls. Chlorine pools are definitely to be avoided when wearing pearls, it will not only discolor your pearls but it will deteriorate them as well as the epoxy glue that is used to set them in place. Never wear strung pearls in water.

If you wish to clean your pearls the best way to take care of them is with a soft cloth and a tiny bit of water. Never put pearls in an Ultrasonic cleaner. 

Gold and Sterling Silver -

You can clean gold and sterling silver with hot soapy water. Make sure to be gentle. Use a polishing cloth. Avoid getting water on pearls. Gold and Sterling silver will scratch with wear. 

Only use an ultrasonic if the piece does not have stones or pearls. 

Bronze -  

Bronze items are easy to care for - yellow bronze gives the appearance of old gold especially when it has been polished.

Bronze will oxidize and darken/discolor quicker than silver or gold. Keep your Bronze clean and dry. Moisture will cause oxidation. 

Gold Plated-

Gold-plated items are a more cost-efficient way of having a gold appearance, especially on larger pieces.

Please be aware that gold plating is only a thin layer of gold crt that eventually will wear away over time.

To protect gold plating, always store your pieces away in a box and avoid anything that will rub. Only polish your jewellery with a soft polishing cloth. Never put in an ultrasonic as this could cause erosion. 

Gemstones - 

You can care for and clean your gemstones with warm soapy water and a very soft brush or cloth. Avoid extreme temperatures and harsh detergents. 

Larger pieces  -

I aim to make my large pieces as light as possible so they are wearable for long periods of time. If you have sensitive ears and have any questions about the weight of the earring before purchasing please contact us .
